DCM Shriram partners with Rabo Bank & Rivulis for improving water use efficiency in its sustainable sugarcane production program
At DCM Shriram, we believe that sustainability should be in the core of business. One of our main pillar in our sustainable sugarcane production initiative is our water conservation initiatives which are gaining momentum . To further provide impetus to our efforts, an MOU was signed with Rabo Bank and Rivulis Irrigation on 22nd January, 2020.
This co-joined effort will further help us in improving water use efficiency by installing drip irrigation systems eventually leading to Water Conservation.
The scope of agreement is: 5000 acres have been targeted for installation of drip irrigation systems in all the four sugar units.
The purpose of agreement is: The project is taken up with an aim to increase the yield while conserving water in cultivation of sugarcane.
The purpose of this initiative is to realize the potential of drip irrigation and demonstrate how it can help in achieving the cost effectiveness / production efficiency thereby, increasing the yield of sugarcane crop, which will result in overall increase in income of farmers.
