FOUNDING TEAM

Ram Kaundinya
Ram Kaundinya has 36 years of operating experience in the Agri Input industry, the last assignment being as the Global CEO of Advanta. He is a thought leader in the seed and Biotech industry. An Advisor and Consultant for last 6 years, he works closely with Agri Entrepreneurship Development programs and funds. He is an author and teaches Strategy to MBA students. He is also the Director General, Federation of Seed Industry of India. He is a Management graduate from IIM Ahmedabad.
Raman Ahuja

Raman Ahuja is an independent consultant in food & agriculture working to influence the ecosystem for improved outcomes for businesses and producers Clients include technology startups, owners of Small & Medium Enterprises, The World Bank Group, International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN, etc. Prior to that Raman’s work experience spans agribusiness value chains, consumer products, and ingredients industries, operating in Indian and International markets. He worked with Hindustan Unilever for 15 years, Thereafter, starting in 2005, he built one of India’s earliest corporate investments in horticulture – FieldFresh Foods DelMonte (a JV of Bharati Enterprises and Del Monte Pacific) and took it to profitability. During 2012-13, Raman led the South Asia Flavours business of Swiss company Firmenich – the world largest privately-owned fragrance & flavour company.
Hemendra Mathur

Hemendra Mathur has over 25 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, management consulting and investment banking. In his career, he has invested in several early stage agritech and mid-sized companies in the agricultural supply chain. He is an investor, board member and adviser in many food and agritech start-ups. He is currently working as Venture Partner with Bharat Innovation Fund. He is the Chairman of FICCI Task Force on Agri Start-ups. He is also an advisor to a few Foundations, Multilaterals, Corporates and Funds with interest in investing the Indian agri startups and SMEs. He has authored many papers on the subject and speaks regularly at conferences pertaining to food and agribusiness sector as well as start-up ecosystem. He is a management graduate from IIM (Ahmedabad) and Agricultural Engineer from Rajasthan Agricultural University.

Ritu Verma
Ritu Verma is the Co-founder of Ankur Capital, an early stage venture capital fund. With a total work experience of more than 21 years, she has been investing in Agtech over the past 9 years and sits across the Boards of many AgTech startups. She is a PhD in Physics from University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from INSEAD.
